What Is the Deal with Free Shipping?

Today is Cyber Monday 2018. Many if not most websites selling memorabilia, including Amazon and eBay, offer free shipping on at least some products. AutographsForSale.com does not offer free shipping. Why?
Well, the answer is pretty obvious: there is no such thing as free shipping. There is ALWAYS a cost associated with shipping any physical product to anywhere. AutographsForSale.com ships 100% of our products with tracking, most are insured for loss or damage (or we are responsible if not insured).
A bit more than 10% of our products are also listed in our eBay Store and there, we DO offer free shipping. However, on eBay our shipping and handling fee is both BUILT IN to the total price which is equal or MORE than the total AutographsForSale.com price, plus in many cases on eBay we ship with the slowest and cheapest shipping method.
It's true that for small and light items, our S&H fee often exceeds our total packaging, postage and insurance cost. However, for heavy or bulky items, the reverse is often true. With over 10,000 different products ranging from trading cards to massive framed pieces, our only feasible way to charge S&H is by total order amount. We do our best to reduce cost by recycling packaging materials, using free USPS boxes and getting the best discounts we can. But rates increase every year.
What that means for you the customer is, if you're interested in more than one item, you will always save money -- sometimes a LOT of money -- by ordering them all at the same time. If you place multiple orders within minutes or hours of each other, and the first has not shipped yet, we will combine the orders and refund the excess S&H. Thanks for your continued business and understanding.
